Something is wrong. A rare pink tide has rolled into central Baalphoria, filling the college city of Piketown with hallucinogenic drugs and spur of the moment parties. While the bottles of pink vapour may be fun, filling the minds of those who consume it with images that seem to spawn straight from the aether itself, there may be something worse lurking on the streets.
When Emilia's roommate, Pria, comes out of a night of partying suffering from an aftereffect, everyone assumes it is just an unfortunate side effect of the drugs. A trip to the university clinic, however, reveals it to be much more insidious.
Suddenly, Emilia finds herself falling back into old habits, namely her inability to keep her nose out of trouble and leave things to the professionals—not that anyone who knew her before or during the war could blame her! Still, while she was once a war hero, those years are long gone—buried under trauma and a decade long disappearing act that seems to quickly be coming to an end.
