~About Me~

I'm in my 30s and live in BC, Canada. I have too many cats and just as many scratching posts. If enough people ask, I might make an Instagram to post pictures of them. I like hiking and writing in as much sun as my iPad will tolerate.

I've been writing for a few years now, starting with fanfiction that I post on Ao3, as well as through twitter threadfics. I still write several long fics, which will end... one day. Not today. Not anytime soon. No, you can't have my username for those—no one needs that much information about my smut preferences.

My biggest (and worst) writing flex is that I once panic wrote about 30,000 words over a week and edited over 200,000 for a fanfiction event. Never. Again.

~Blissfully Broken~

Where did the name Blissfully Broken come from? Well, I've suffered with chronic pain issues since I was in my early teens. While I still have days where it would be great if the world would just, like, you know, end, overall, I've learned how to manage my pain pretty well—to find bliss and happiness, even when everything hurts and my childhood dreams have faded out of reach.

I spent a lot of my teens and twenties trying to find an answer and bouncing around from specialist to specialist, and medication to medication, but no one ever figured out what's wrong with me and none of the meds were ever that effective, sadly.

I've gone through portions of life in miserable pain, barely leaving bed. Due to pain and stress, I failed to get through university, although I did eventually get a degree in web design. With rare exceptions, this entire website was designed and programmed by me! I would not recommend programming your own content management system, unless you're a masochist.

That said, I never really did much with my degree, due to health issues. Around the start of Covid, I began babysitting for some friends of mine. A couple of years and siblings groups later, my current charge is all grown (being a whole ass adult in the body of an almost 4-year-old, most days) and going into full-time daycare. Being between jobs, I used most of my free time to start writing something original.
